Pyro1 – Twickenham Rugby Stadium 27th December 2014 – Blog
Got a call from Pyro1 who commission me to photograph their events, I have worked with Pyro1 for many years now in fact their client account number is 0001 my first commission. It was to photograph the Rugby League Final fireworks, I ended up sitting next to Carl Recine and the rest is history. They are a Firework Displays, Pyrotechnics & Special Effects Event company. www.pyro1.com They cover a wide range of events; Sporting, Corporate, Public, Music and Weddings. Should take a look at their website and use their services. This time they wanted a set of images of the pyrotechnics at Twickenham Rugby stadium, Harlequins vs Northants 27th December 2014. They had set up Pyrotechnics round the pitch and off the main roof. This was to coincide with the teams running out on to the pitch. With most stadiums now trying to find the right place is becoming more and more difficult. Making sure we don’t get in the way of the TV crews seem to be the main issue. Shooting from the end in front of the large screens which would block the view was not an option. Parts of the stadium were out of remit. We settled on the a shot high from the stadium looking half way down on to pitch. Could not use a tripod as this would block the fans coming in to their seats. So hand held resting on a metal safety handrail was my only option. The images came out all right and the client is happy.
