FIA WEC Austin 19th September 2014 – Blog
One day to go to the race there is still a lot to do. First thing is the Free Practice #3 – FIA WEC to photograph. We have a check list of things to get banners, sponsors and cars. we hope to have these in place by the end of Free Practice #3
Later in the day we have the qualifying 25 minutes to set a time that will dictate where they start from the grid. First up is the LMGTE-Pro and the LMGTE-Am teams
The opportunity to take images from the top of the tower was agreed. The observation tower was designed by Miro Rivera Architects, 419 stairs and is 230ft above ground level. This offers a 360 degrees view of the track. From this height i was able to capture the Qualifying – FIA WEC LMP1 and LMP2 teams.
The highlight as i travelled round the track in my buggy a rainbow came out. I was hoping to capture this at the top while i photographed the second qualifying. Perfect timing.
I took a Panoramic shot from my iPhone which has come out ok
The qualifying finished 7.00pm and sunset was on the way. The views were amazing and very special.
Back to the media room to finish my editing of my images. Another long day.
